Jamie McCredie began his career as a musician at 12 years old playing cello, before switching to the guitar via drums and bass. At age 19 Jamie won the International Guitar Festival Guitarist of the Year, ahead of studying Jazz music full time – achieving a Masters degree in improvisation and contemporary composition. Jamie has worked with many bands and ensembles such as ‘The Modern Guitar Quartet’ and ‘Extreme Measures’ alongside his work with the Mac Francis Quintet. Jamie currently teaches guitar and harmony at Newcastle College Performance Academy while also working as a freelance guitarist, composer and transcription-writer.
